Cologne Cathedral

I can't remember how I ran across the Cologne Cathedral, I think someone gave me a landmark for it a few months back.

In front

The best thing about the cathedral is how life like it is. If you have ever been to Europe you probably saw at least one cathedral. I love the inside of the cathedral, it is so life like.

Love the arches

There is also pretty lanscaping outside. There is a path that surrounds the Cathedral and a gazebo.

And a fountain that I had to splash in :)

There is also a stage and a piano to play so of course I had to do that too :)

Playing piano

The cathedral is actually on two connected sims. It is so pretty and shows how life like things can be in SL. But the best thing about it-NO LAG!!!

ALA Island

One of my first stops, if not the first, was ALA Island। Since I joined for a library science class I figured this would be a good place to start.

ALA_001
Ok I guess I should point out that yeah I'm not that great with pictures but anyway :)
Here is where you start on the island। The island if full of everything library। Since the ALA winter conference just happened there was video streaming of awards. Directly to the right of this picture there is a shop full of library shirts. They are free so pick as many up as you want. It is a good thing to get out of the clothes your av comes in well unless you like blue and white stripped shirts or pink polka dot dresses :).

store

If you turn around right where you landed you will see a teleport. This will allow you to teleport to anywhere on the island. Just left click to pick a place and then it will let you teleport-very easy. There are so many places to look on the island. I will talk about a two.

teleporting

Also don't forget to join the ALA group.

Banned Books

When I joined SL it was around Banned Books Week. Unfortunately I couldn't go to any of the events but the Banned Book area is up all the time. It is a little city with buildings names after popular banned books (Perks of Being a Wallflower and Harry Potter). There's also a soap box you can hop on :).

Reading Garden

Another area of ALA Island is the Reading Garden. Ever month there are different authors that you can listen to and the place is just so pretty.

A few more things. All around the island there are kiosks with different library organizations. Click on them and they will give you information on the organization. Very neat.

kiosks

ALA will frequently hold different events or discussions on the island. There was tons for the ALA Winter conference.

And finally for all book lovers. There is a spot where you can take a picture of yourself holding a book. This was probably one of the first pictures I took.
